More and more families are making the choice to invest in an RV, but not everyone has the space to store their RV on their own property.

Here are three questions that you must ask every RV storage facility before storing your RV to ensure the vehicle remains safe and secure.
1. Is There Access to 30/50 AMP Power?
Modern RVs can be powered using either a 30 or 50 AMP circuit. It's important that your storage facility can provide you with access to these types of power circuits if you want to preserve your RV's battery throughout the storage period.
RV batteries can be very costly to replace. Allowing these batteries to drain completely while your vehicle is in storage can weaken the integrity of the batteries themselves.
Being able to plug your RV into an electrical outlet will help keep your batteries charged and ready for future camping trips.
2. Is Covered Parking Available?
Although a covered parking spot can be a little more costly, providing your RV with protection against the elements can help you save in the future.
Prolonged sun exposure can cause the roof coating used on modern RVs to deteriorate. This may lead to leaks and serious water damage within your RV. Covered parking will protect your RV's roof, exterior paint, seals, and tires against any premature damage.
If a covered parking spot is not available at your storage facility, be sure that you place a fitted cover over your RV while it is in storage.
3. What Are the Access Hours?
You want to ensure that you still have access to your RV at all times when housing the vehicle at a storage facility. Always ask about the access hours at the facility before signing an RV storage contract.
A facility that offers 24/7 access gives you the ability to retrieve items from your RV at any time. Round-the-clock access will also give you the ability to pull your RV out of storage during the early morning or late night hours in order to prepare the vehicle for an upcoming camping trip.
